Cancellation Policy- Client may cancel hours equivalent to the
weekly guaranteed hours for the assignment 36, 40, or 48 for a 13
week assignment. For all 26-week assignments, the cancellation
policy will be doubled. Unit- Tower 2 - PCU Cardiac/Intermediate
Care- 61750 Unit Type- Stepdown Care Setting- Acute Shift Length-
12 Guaranteed Hours- 36 hours per week Years of Experience- 2 Years
License to Submit- Yes Required Certifications- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS -
AHA or APEX Shift Notes- 1845-0715 Trauma Level- 2 Charting System-
EPIC system Unit Notes- - START DATE - Start dates are not
flexible. - Department: PCU Cardiac/Intermediate Care - A2 - Radius
Rule: 100 miles - NURSE PATIENT RATIOS: DAYS | 1:4 NIGHTS | 1:5 -
Must have PCU/Stepdown/Tele Experience on this unit. - Unit PCU
Cardiac/Intermediate Care - A2 - of Beds 36 - Nurse: Patient Ratios
1:4-5 could have some mixed MS and PCU patients - 1:5 for all MS
patients - Required certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?) BLS, ACLS,
NIHSS - Common diagnoses/Types of patients CHF, NSTEMI, MI, heart
block, pacer, TAVR, CABG day 2, recovers cath pts after sheath is
pulled, Watchman, bradycardia, VT, general PCU overflow:
respiratory failure, low BPs, low hemoglobin, sepsis, post
surgical, etc. - Experience or 'Must have' skills No first time
travelers. - Prefer experience with TAVR and CABG (core staff
usually take) - This unit has cardiac focus. - Travelers must have
experience with all drips below - Are RNs required to titrate
drips? Yes - Common titratable &/or set rate drips amiodarone,
cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, heparin, start nitro, insulin - Is
there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an
assignment? Charge- free of assignment, try to avoid giving an
assignment ( could take a couple patients on very rare occasion) -
Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios?
Duties? PCA-8-12 per person, potentially less - RT Equipment
(Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do
anything with these besides trouble shoot? bipap, hi flow, stable
trach - Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required
to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? Tele on
this unit, Travelers need to read tele, however there is a
dedicated monitor tech as well - Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow
self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) 6:45-7:15a, charge to make
schedule to balance unit needs, will take travelers requests into
consideration. - Weekend Requirement 4 weekend days per month -
Days:Saturday, Sunday - Nights Friday, Saturday, Sunday - Holiday
Requirement 3/5 holidays - Is there Call or a Standby requirement?
Low Census for full or partial day - Floating Requirements ICU
within patient population, and MS floors - Scrub Color/Dress
