Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Yuma, Arizona,

Certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced
Must-Have: - Ability to perform vaginal exams - Experience with
scalp electrodes and circulating C-sections - Skills in newborn
transitions and IV starts - Knowledge of APGAR assessments and
postpartum hemorrhage control - Experience with titration of drips
such as magnesium, Pitocin, insulin, and blood Description: The
unit has 9 Labor and Delivery beds and 2 operating room suites for
C-sections. There are 7 triage beds available. An average of 9
births occur daily, totaling about 3000 births per year. The unit
attempts to follow AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios of 1:1 or
1:2. Common patient diagnoses include conditions such as
hypertension and cases with no prenatal care. The patient
population is primarily Spanish-speaking, so proficiency in Spanish
is preferred. Candidates must have experience in performing vaginal
exams, as well as with circulating C-sections and assisting
anesthesiology. Knowledge of postpartum hemorrhage control
procedures is critical, and training will be provided through
simulation labs. Experience with water births and spinning babies
is preferred but not required. Keeps in mind, RNs may be assigned
to care for antepartum patients as well. The nursing team includes
charge nurses and OB technicians for support on each shift.
Electronic fetal monitoring is conducted using a specific system.
Weekend requirements include working 3 shifts within a 4-week
schedule. Holiday requirements typically involve working 2 out of 3
holidays, including the eve and day of the holiday. On-call options
are available but not mandatory, and there is a low census on-call
requirement. Scrubs will be provided by the facility. Floating to
related areas may be required based on patient needs and staffing.
